Current Research Projects

Read below for information about some of my current research projects

NSF Supporting Public Impact Research Through Institutional Transformation

I serve as a Co-PI on the NSF Supporting Public Impact Research through Institutional Transformation (SPIRIT) project, alongside Dr. Jessica Bennett and

Dr. Kacy Redd of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). This project is funded by the United States National Science Foundation (NSF #2404600) and aims to build the capacity of public and land-grant universities to enable and support faculty doing public impact research. Closing the Disciplinary Implementation Gap at Michigan State University

This project is funded by a Modernizing Academic Appointment and Advancement (MA3) Challenge grant that was awarded to Michigan State University by the Open Research Community Accelerator (ORCA). The goal of this project is to help integrate publicly impactful scholarship, innovation, engagement, and entrepreneurship into promotion and tenure systems, via a university-wide working group to develop guidance, rubrics, and tools while pilot colleges adapt new frameworks to disciplinary contexts. I lead and oversee research and evaluation components of the project, working alongside individuals in Faculty and Academic Affairs, University Outreach and Engagement, and the Office of Research and Innovation. Collaborating with the Multicultural Student Achievement Network

Working with Executive Director, Latoya Holiday, I support the Multicultural Student Achievement Network (MSAN) with their youth voice research-practice partnership. Housed in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education, MSAN works to "build the capacity of students and educators to improve the educational experiences and outcomes of students of color by learning and leading together". In our collaboration, I support research and evaluation efforts in service of this goal. For more information about MSAN, visit this link
